    I asked CM Mose to come out (first time using them) to perform standard maintenance on our furnace and AC last month. Two guys came out- one tech and what seemed like a sales guy. Before even checking the system they asked how old it was and I mentioned it was probably just over 10 years old. The sales guy immediately started talking about a new system and said they'd provide a few different quotes. I told them at this time I was only interested in cleaning and maintenance, but the whole encounter felt very sales-y and made me wonder whether or not their recommendations were really needed. Once they checked the Furnace and AC they mentioned that it had a bad capacitor and was low on coolant. They also mentioned that a component outside looked pretty weathered, but replacing that would cost an addition $200-300 and they were already talking about nearly $1,000 to fix the essentials. I agreed to the capacitor and coolant refill and they went on their way. About a week or two later we turned on the AC and it wasn't blowing cold air, so at that point I called a relative who owns an AC company, but lives a bit farther away to come take a look. He found that the service lines didn't even have caps on them, and ultimately discovered that the missing caps were how the coolant leaked out because there was a bad valve core- he could easily hear the coolant escaping through the valve- so, he replaced both the core and the caps for around $10. Mose didn't even mention the missing caps to me, but if they had it probably would have saved me the bulk of the $900 charge for having to refill the coolant once the issue was fixed. He also said that the capacitor Mose installed was upside down, and they hadn't even washed the coils on the unit outside. Jeff, the service manager, did reach out after I voiced my dissatisfaction. I sent him the details and pictures, but I haven't heard back from them yet with a resolution. Edit on 3/29/24- thanks for the response- I did reach out directly to your office over the past few weeks and they told me Jeff would try and call yesterday, but I haven't heard back yet. Update- 4/22/24- I still haven't received the partial refund the service manager, Jeff, said they'd process for me. He also said they'd cancel my monthly plan- which I was charged for again after our conversation on the phone earlier this month.

    First I'll start with companies can charge whatever they like for their services. However at a certain point I believe it becomes unethical. Our AC unit was not kicking on and after looking at reviews we thought CM Mose & Son would be a good fit. They showed up promptly and diagnosed the issue as a bad thermostat. We have an Ecobee smart thermostat. It was just my wife at home at the time. They quoted her north of $1,100.00 dollars. These thermostats sell for $150.00 online and some electric companies give it to their customers for free. Once we showed the tech what we could buy one for he called his boss and said they can do it for north of $800.00 dollars. Obviously we said no and paid the $89.00 service fee and they were on their way. Again, I don't tell other companies what they should charge but people should be aware that this price is astronomically high for what they run and how easy they are to install. I'm afraid that they do get people to pay these prices, unfortunately.

    Jim was extremely knowlegable, professional, and forthright. He walked me through every aspect of the process and, as a result, I believe I made the best decision that I could have made. Brandon and his team installed a backup Generac generator. Everything went of without a hitch and everything is working perfectly. It was a pleasure to work with this company. Couldn’t be more pleased.

    Chris Trail and his team were prompt, explained their plan and timing for the day (6 hrs) and were very close to estimated time of completion. Then he demonstrated how the automated transfer worked. They cleaned up after the project (didn't leave a mess)! CM Mose was about a third less than other bids. We are very happy with our Generac and the installation.

    Amended review: I tried for 4 days to get a receipt after spending $13,000 plus dollars on an install. I have written and I have called. Multiple emails went to Sarah and a phone call as well. Today I reached Jennifer and was not impressed. I told her my frustration about trying to get a receipt over the last several days. You could tell she could not identify with the frustration and without any affect said I will send you one in the mail tomorrow. No word of apology, no word of let me check on it and see what happened. I can only hope that I do not need to go through the office to arrange service or something more severe. Getting a receipt should not be this difficult after a major expenditure like this. Clark, Matthew and Chandler worked as an efficient, expeditious and synchronized Team. There was no chatter as they almost silently went about their individual task installing my Generac Guardian 18 kw generator. They took time to show me what I needed to know when they were finished. I was so impressed that I bought the C M Mose maintenance agreement after Matthew explained logically why it is best to have one. BUY THEM LUNCH!
